JOIN US: Friday, June 16tg, I’m thrilled to participate in a QCast discussion with Janet Standen about note-taking tactics and techniques. This conversation is a follow-up to my June cover story for VIEWS magazine titled “Diving Deep: Note-taking Strategies to Efficiently Swim through Your Analyses.”

Note-taking is a passion of mine. Yes, you might say, what!? But it’s because I’ve developed approaches to note-taking that take me far into the analysis of rich but potentially unwieldy qualitative data—UX and otherwise.

More notes, and more data, isn’t necessarily better! In fact, gathering extraneous data can cause a lot of rework because you have to extrapolate the information that does not tie directly to your study’s goals.

We cover reverse Empathy Mapping, Opposites and Spectrum Frameworks, Color Coding, and more.

And I’ll also share some of my favorite tools from my Ask Like A Pro Orchestrate workshop.

Shoring up your note-taking tactics will help you work smarter, not harder. Utilizing techniques like these will help you take better notes, conduct more useful research, and have more overall success.
