A Live Screener Teardown and AI Moderation Checklist

I hope you're eating a popsicle somewhere. Quick one this week.

1. Tomorrow: getting the right people into your study

I’m joining Askable tomorrow, Wednesday, August 5, at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST for a live session on screeners.

We'll tear down a bad screener and rewrite it, line by line, live. We'll also get into writing criteria like a product spec, the five things every screener needs, bogey response options, and why running more interviews never fixes a sample problem.

Come join us! It's free and will be recorded, so register here even if the time doesn’t work.

I worked closely with Askable on this session. Check out the article that inspired this webinar here.

2. Keep this checklist for evaluating AI moderation platforms

Lauren McCluskey, Principal at Responsive Research, presented a framework for evaluating AI moderation platforms at QRCA’s Qual Tech Days. It was a terrific presentation. She's generously let me share the companion checklist with you.

I appreciate that it starts with fit, not features! Questions like: Has probing been tested in the languages I need? Can I review the AI moderator before launch? Are my participants' responses used to train the platform's models? How does pricing break out? There are many more gems in the checklist too. Showing just a glimpse below. Thank you, Lauren!
