How to Make a Journey Map Both Accurate and Actionable

YOU'RE INVITED! Creating a good journey map is WAY harder than it looks.

This is the first journey map I ever made—next to the LEGO version it was inspired by. This was created in 2014. I learned a boatload from this project. (Apologies for the blurriness, NDAs!)

Most journey maps look clean and logical. But making one that’s both accurate and actionable? That’s the real challenge.

Some lesser-known hurdles:

  • Getting cross-functional agreement on what’s actually happening

  • Mapping uncertainties and handoffs, not just happy paths

  • Balancing narrative flow with real-world friction

  • Making it useful beyond a workshop or slide deck

A solid journey map is equal parts research artifact and alignment tool.

Join me and Julie Francis, a self-proclaimed journey mapping nerd, as she shares what she’s learned from interviewing 75+ practitioners and stakeholders about the highs, lows, and learnings from real-world journey mapping.

Drawing on those conversations and her own extensive experience, Julie will walk through five core principles and best practices for journey maps that deliver lasting impact.

The link to purchase is below. This hands-on workshop will be recorded. All registrants will receive the recording, whether they join us live or not. Hope to see you there!
